Dr. Caitlin Kontgis is the Executive Director of Neural Earth. She has 20 years of experience as a scientist, manager, and go-to-market executive. Her expertise includes satellite applications development, product and sales leadership and strategy, and global environmental change. 

Prior to joining Neural, Caitlin worked as Senior Vice President of Commercial and Growth at Satellogic, where she managed commercial operations from pre-sales technical requirements to customer delivery. Earlier in her career, she managed a project in partnership with Esri and Microsoft to release the world’s first open-source global 10-meter land use/land cover map, and she built and led applied science teams at Descartes Labs, which she helped scale from fewer than 10 employees to over 100.

Caitlin holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, where she was a NASA Earth & Space Science Fellow. She also holds a Master of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
