About the position

Are you seeking a pivotal role in a rapidly expanding company where your insights drive tangible impact? Neural is actively seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to spearhead our technical initiatives with autonomy and ingenuity.

As a key player, you will leverage your robust technical acumen to architect and maintain scalable software solutions, laying the foundation for present and future business endeavors. This role offers an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of your expertise across architecture, application development, and operations, contributing to the establishment of a cutting-edge technological landscape.

This a contract to full-time, remote position

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of robust backend software solutions, encompassing RESTful APIs, databases, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Architect and implement scalable software systems to support current and future business requirements.
  • Drive the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, ensuring alignment with cloud-native principles.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of backend components with other layers of the infrastructure.

Qualification

  • Proficiency in Python, PHP, and Node.js, with a focus on backend development.
  • Extensive experience in software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges and debug software defects effectively.
  • Deep understanding of principles and methodologies of deploying production SaaS platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Neo4j).
  • Expertise in cloud services, particularly AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or DigitalOcean.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies for software development.
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
